A compelling story of an unexpected and epic journey, the full-length feature film Atlantis Untold will show at this year’s Adelaide Fringe.

Directed and produced by Design Works Studio’s Nigel and Margie Galliver, the story follows young siblings who embark on a mystical adventure.

“It’s the story of an unexpected and epic journey by siblings Jack and Skye Noble who are forced by circumstances to conquer the opposing forces of an inner world until they reach the legendary City of Atlantis,” Margie says. “The film’s characters symbolise the inner voices that either motivate or discourage us in our own life’s journey.”

South Australians will recognise some of the scenery throughout the film, with the footage being taken from local landscape.

“The film is set in the Copper Triangle with many historical buildings and landscapes, including the Moonta Mines and the Farmshed Museum, and local beaches along the local and Limestone coastline,” Margie says.

Through altered realities and the guidance of light and darkness, the film promises to be inspiring and uplifting for audiences.

“People who enjoy unpacking the metaphors in a story and who savour the inner revelations this can bring will love this movie. Also those who feel their senses have become desensitised by the thunderous, eye-popping, ear-piercing roar of some movies will enjoy assimilating the reassuring and uplifting message in Atlantis Untold,” Margie says.

As the son of world-renowned tenor David Galliver, Nigel brings his musical wisdom to the film creating an original score.

“Nigel composed and performed the movie’s original music score,” Margie says. “Nigel spent much of his childhood immersed in the musical environments of orchestras and concert halls. Nigel’s father would have been very proud of the musical legacy which has been expressed in the music score of Atlantis Untold.”

Atlantis Untold will be showing at The Capri on the 24 and 17 March and The Domain on the 4 March 2021.
