Euphorbia tirucalli

The Euphorbia tirucalli is indigenous to Uganda, Zaire and Zanzibar. This beautiful succulent grows in a tree-like manner, reaching heights of approximately 30'. Branches are cylindrical, pencil-thick and glossy green. During the colder months, branches take on a pinkish-red color. Leaves are deciduous and narrow. Flowers are yellow and inconspicuous. Flowers form in clusters at the apex of the short branches or in the angles of branches.

The Euphorbia tirucalli has been used in traditional medicine in numerous parts of the world. It has been utilized as a remedy for a number of diseases (i.e., various types of cancer, tumors, warts, asthma, cough, earache, neuralgia, rheumatism, toothache, etc...). Despite this plant's frequent use in traditional medicine, The Cactus King STRONGLY discourages any client from using the Euphorbia tirucalli in this manner. This species is toxic.
