Introduction

Actaea Spicata is a rheumatic remedy, especially of the small joints and wrists. It comes from natural order of ranunculaceae. The remedy belongs to vegetable kingdom and its synonyms is Baneberry. It is found in Europe and Asia. The homeopathic tincture is prepared from root obtained in autumn.

Actaea Spicata is a rheumatic remedy like Cimicifuga, but Actaea Spicata affecting more prominently the small joints and wrists. Also, it is especially suited to men [cimicifuga to women] in old age.

Actaea is a remedy for rheumatism. It causes tearing, drawing, and tingling pains and mainly affects smaller joints, especially the wrist. The right arm and wrist are particularly affected, and there are rheumatic pains in the face. The patient feels a lame sensation in their arms and pain in their knee. The patient experiences shortness of breath due to cold exposure and may exhibit symptoms from fright or fatigue.

It is particularly suitable for older people and resembles Viola Odorata, Caulophyllum, Sabina, Colocynthis, and Sticta in rheumatism, with aggravation noticed from motion and change of weather.
