Tall Bird Orchids

The Chiloglotis gunnii – Tall Bird Orchid, is another Tasmanian Orchid that can be hard to spot and is quite different than the Greenhood in my previous post, though it grows in the same area.

M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 60mm F2.8 Macro – 1/15 sec; f/13; ISO 1600

It is best to look out for the leaves, which can grow in large patches across the ground disguised in the leaf litter, then look for the flowers which blend in well with dead leaves.

More information about these and other Tasmanian Orchids can be found HERE.

Thanks for visiting 😀
