Rhizomes creeping, covered with ovate-elliptical or deltoid-lanceolate dark brown scales.
Stipes approximate, with tow grooves on upper side; sterile fronds 75 cm long, with a terminal pinna and closely placed lateral pinnae, usually bearing a bud some distance below the tip; lower pinnae shortened; margins or pinnae serrate without sharp teeth, truncate bases on both acroscopic and basiscopic sides veins free, forking.
Fertile fronds with 13-25 cm linear blades, the pinnae sessile or short-stalked, oblong, 8-11 mm long; stipes 15-33 cm long.
Sori acrostichoid.
