Comments & ID Thoughts

Copper Tarantula, second picture of the Tarantula I spotted while on a pathway in the jungle, close to a group of 2 Cenote's about 30 min outside of Cancun, Mexico

This is a new spider for our site's sightings collection. :)

Tliltocatl vagans, formerly Bratchipelma vegans, commonly known as Mexican red rump tarantula.

I don’t know tarantulas at all, so Dan, I’m going to go with your identifications without checking them. If you change your mind on any, I can change the IDs.

I don’t think I know a lot, This is one I know along with most native Aphonpema spp.
They are not all large, I’ve done several hunts for Microhexura, grown they can perch on a thumbnail.
I used to be good at telling gender with a close look at the venter.

You know a lot more than I do! The only tarantulas in New England are pets. That’s really cool about the tiny ones!
