Eleagnus angustifolia

Eleagnus angustifolia is a small tree or spreading shrub from Central Asia. In our climatic conditions, it reaches about 6 meters in height.
The edible fruit, greenish, then yellow, and finally orange-brown, ripens in autumn. They stay on the shoots for a very long time, often throughout the winter.
Yellow, strongly and pleasantly scented flowers bloom at the turn of May and June.

The plant is melliferous!

Silvery, narrow, lacent-shaped leaves that remain on the plant until December.

Eleagnus angustifolia has no special soil requirements. It prefers sunny or semi-sunny positions. Resistant to frost and drought.
