Ribes speciosum

Fuchsia flowered gooseberry. These occur infrequently along the west fork of Cold Spring (between the turnoff for Tangerine falls and the tunnel), there’s also one on Jesusita just before the junction with Arroyo Burro. In both places there are bitter gooseberries near-by.
It blooms Dec-Apr.
On this species, spines occur all over the stem, as with the other gooseberry, there is a trio of spines at the leaf nodes, but there are also lots of other spines.
