Archontophoenix maxima, Walsh River palm native to Queensland Australia, is a great looking king type. The largest species in the genus, having a unique trunk that flares out at the base. Crownshaft is a mid-green color. Produces white flowers w/ red fruit. Ascending fronds and has leaflets almost all the way to the trunk (petiole is short or absent). Leaflet bottoms have a white tinge or grey-scale. Has red fruit. Good grow for Southern CA.
