Disney's forthcoming live-action adaptation of its Oscar-nominated 1991 animated movie musical Beauty and the Beast unveiled its poster art July 7.

Beauty and the Beast is scheduled to be released in 3D March 17, 2017. The Disney remake boasts a galaxy of stars, many with Broadway pedigrees. The cast includes Emma Watson (Belle), Ian McKellen (Cogsworth), Audra McDonald (Garderobe), Emma Thompson (Mrs. Potts), Josh Gad (Le Fou), Ewan McGregor (Lumiere), Kevin Kline (Maurice), Stanley Tucci (Cadenza) and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Plumette).

Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens plays the Beast, with Luke Evans (The Hobbit, Dracula: Untold) as Gaston.

The film premiered its first trailer May 23. The teaser offers a brief glimpse of Harry Potter star Watson reaching for the story's iconic rose.

Actor Evans, who plays Gaston, previously tweeted a photo from the recording session captioned, “If you could just hear this 93-piece orchestra playing the songs from Beauty and the Beast... It's Spine tingling...“

The 1991 Beauty and the Beast film featured songs by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman. The 1994 Broadway musical had additional songs by Menken and Tim Rice, who penned lyrics for the new songs for the forthcoming live-action film.

Menken told Entertainment Weekly previously that all of the songs from the original animated film will be heard in the live-action version, although none of the songs that were added to the property's Broadway debut made the film.

"I would’ve taken 'If I Can’t Love Her,' but the problem is that was for a very specific moment to end Act I of the Broadway show," Menken said. "There’s a moment where the Beast drives her away and he regrets that. But I think [director] Bill [Condon] built a more promising moment for the film, which is when he lets her go and he watches her leave. And as he watches her leave, he sings."

The composer also revealed that three new songs have been written for the film, including "Forever More" and "Days in the Sun."

According to Disney, "The beloved tale will be retold for the big screen with a modern live-action lens and the help of transformative CG magic."

Condon, who directed the film adaptation of the musical Dreamgirls, is directing this film as well.

The live-action film features a script by Stephen Chbosky. David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman produce.

The 1991 animated film of Beauty and the Beast won Academy Awards for Best Music, Original Song and Best Music, Original Score. The 1994 Broadway stage adaptation was nominated for nine Tony Awards, winning for Costume Design (Ann Hould-Ward).
