Who knew a succulent could have such an interesting name as Fockea crispa? These caudiciform plants are a real gem found in the Little Karoo region of South Africa. It's also known as Fockea capensis and belongs to the Milkweed family. The plant has a unique water-storing root called a caudex that expands over time.

The Fockea crispa foliage consists of elliptical-oval leaves with sharply crisped margins that are slender, creeping, or vining, and can vary in extended communities. But don't forget about its tiny greenish-white flowers with twisted flattened lobes that are hardly noticeable but oh so cute!

This hardy perennial succulent thrives best in full sun, partial shade with moderate watering needs, and is perfect for beginners because it's easy to grow and can tolerate light frost. These plants favor a well-drained soil mix with specialized succulent potting soil, so it's easy to find a succulent potting mix at Planet Desert. It's an evergreen succulent that's easy to propagate by cuttings - what more could you want from a plant?

However, be careful around this one as it's toxic for humans and pets alike! The plant is also attractive to mealy bugs, and the aphid occasionally feeds on young stems. So if you're looking to add some new and exotic plants color to your garden or indoor collection, get yourself some Fockea crispa plants today!
