Ipomoea costata

Coriaceous vine to 3m, with tuberous, edible roots, pink to purple flowers, also called Rock Morning Glory, grows in desert sands. Sometimes known as the Bush Yam, this species is still dug for by indigenous desert dwellers of the SE Kimberley.

This bush is found from the West Pilbara right across to near Alice Springs
