Steve Jobs drove a car without a licence plate and got away with it.
The founder of Apple drove a silver SL55 AMG Mercedes around California, without being registered, but wasn’t breaking the law. It turns out that he found a loophole in licensing laws. The state gave car owners six months to register their vehicles. Jobs had an arrangement with his car lease company. He exchanged the vehicle with an identical one before the lease expired, so was always within the legal requirements. Pure genius.
The laws have now been changed so if you live in California don’t try this. You’d be breaking the law!
