Jonathan S. Lewin, M.D. ’85, honored by Johns Hopkins

Jonathan S. Lewin, M.D. ’85, was among 10 alumni and faculty honored with portraits on June 9 the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine for the Award and Portrait Presentation, held during Biennial Meeting and Reunion Weekend 2017. The portraits honored the influential members of the Johns Hopkins Medicine family. Lewin served as the Martin Donner Professor and Chairman of the Russell H. Morgan Department of Radiology and Radiological Science at Johns Hopkins University and the Radiologist-in-Chief at Johns Hopkins Hospital from 2004 until 2016. He has been a pioneer in interventional and intraoperative MR imaging and has published more than 200 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts and 60 book chapters, reviews, commentaries and other invited papers. Lewin is an inventor on more than 25 patents, and has been principal investigator and co-principal investigator on National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other federal and state grants with awards of more than $10 million. He is currently the executive vice president for health affairs at Emory University; executive director, Woodruff Health Sciences Center; and president, CEO and chairman of the Board at Emory Healthcare.
