Description

It is a tall tree: it can reach 20 meters. The leaves are deciduous, and have a pinnate shape: from a central nerve, different leaves come out. They are dark green in color and turn red or orange in autumn before falling.

It is a dioecious species: there are male and female specimens.

The flowers are very small and red. They open before the leaves come out in early spring. The fruit is also very small and red.

Marimurtra’s specimens

The tallest is about 5 meters high. You can see it at the crossroads of the second garden, before reaching the square of the well.

The leaves and flowers change color depending on the time of year, so we recommend that you come to the Botanical Garden several times.
