Summary

Four new species of Elaeocarpus L. are described. One, Elaeocarpus alanganorum Coode, is from Mindoro Island in the Philippines; the other three species, E. davisii Coode, E. johnsii Coode and E. rosselensis Coode, are from the New Guinea area. Attention is drawn to other collections which represent further new species, not yet in condition to describe. One new subspecies, Elaeocarpus habbemensis A.C. Sm. subsp. schoddei Coode, from the Milne Bay Province of Papua New Guinea, is also described.
