Centaur Mk.IV British Tank - IBG 72108

Developed as a replacement for the aging Crusader, the main cruiser tank of the British Forces during the first half of WWII, the Centaur shared a very similar hull design with the A27 Cromwell but was fitted with a Liberty Engine. The Mk.IV variant of the Centaur was fitted with the 95mm tank howitzer and was the only version of the Centaur to enter real combat situations. During the Normandy Invasion of June 1944, the Centaurs were unleashed by the Royal Marines where they target German pill-boxes from landing vessels. The Centaurs then proceeded to support infantry following the landing, aiding to secure the beachhead.
