Production

Production In order to be able to guarantee a continued delivery of highquality plant starting material from cuttings, Florensis has three parent plant companies at its disposal. In addition to loca tions in Kenya and Ethiopia, parent plants are grown in Portugal. In these countries, certi !"#$%&''()*+$,-"$.-/#&%"#$()$+."%(,0$.-/#&%'(/)$ greenhouses, which are submitted to rigorous regular inspection.

Kenya The Florensis parent plant company in Kenya is situated in Naivasha. In this location, a total amount of 575,000 parent plants are grown un der optimum conditions on a surface area of ap proximately 50,000 m2. Apart from the delivery of highquality unrooted cuttings, the rooting of several varieties also takes place in Kenya. This is followed by highly controlled transport to the Netherlands, under the most ideal conditions.

Ethiopia In order to minimize the risks, a parent plant company was founded in Ethiopia in coopera tion with an Ethiopian partner. Another reason for this being that the climatologic conditions in Ethiopia do offer great advantages for certain varieties as compared to those in Kenya. Pres ently, this location comprises 16,000 m2 for the production and delivery of starting material.

Portugal 1)$ 2/-'&*,03$ .,-")'$ .0,)'+$ ,0+/$ 4")"!'$ 5-/6$ ,$ high degree of light intensity. Currently, the main cultures are Petunias and Calibrachoa but Lavender and Sedum also produce highrate cuttings and these are partly rooted in situ. All cuttings, as supplied by the various parent plant companies are checked thoroughly, im mediately after arriving at the young plant pro duction site in HendrikIdoAmbacht, the Neth erlands. The cuttings need to be fresh, uniform and healthy. Only the very best quality cuttings can produce highquality healthy young plants. Apart from the production of cuttings, there is also ample attention to social engagement, es pecially in the locations in Kenya and Ethiopia.

The Florensis Tray

The Florensis Tray Successful through innovativity Florensis has its own tray system. The young plants trays in their distinctive blue colour were developed from the existing hard plastic trays and have great dimensional stability. Therefore, the precision with which each '-,7$!'+$()'/$'8"$.-(%9$/&'$-/4/'$(+$:"-7$8(*8;$<8"$'-,7+$,-"$6/&0#"#$&+()*$,$'/',0$/5$=$()>"%'(/)$+('"+3$?8(%8$ -"+&0'+$()$,$8(*8$#"*-""$/5$+',4(0('7$,)#$0(5"0/)*$+'-,'"*(%$!';$ The trays are made according to the tried and tested Danish standard and have especially rounded feet that allow ease of movement both in a longitudinal as well as a transverse direction. Furthermore, the plants are easy to take out, even when processed manually.

Useful solutions The Florensis tray in its different young plant sizes offers feasible solutions for all sorts of applications.
