Meng 1/35 Abrams M1A1 Aim

Post by WordenB »

My first attempt at a group build is done. I've thoroughly enjoyed it and having a finish date forced me get on with it so hopefully I shall join in again.

I found a Masterbox set that fitted the subject (MB35131 "Can we buy one of your sheep for a BBQ") and had a go at making a little diorama although my crew are going for a trade with rations. It's the first time I've attempted anything like this in a very, very long time but it came out better than I feared.

That's very kind, thank you. It came out better than I thought but I still have a lot to learn.

Great result and I like the way all the figures are seeming to be engaged with the Arab.

Thank you very much Digger, I was surprised just how good the figures were for a small outlay although the sheep looks more like it comes from the Welsh valleys than Afghanistan.

That's a superb result mate - really well done for sticking with it and the diorama & figures just add to the story.

Thanks for joining the GB and tackling something a bit of your comfort zone too :cheers2:
Cheers, Neil

Thank you very much Neil. I wasn't sure at first if a group build was the right thing for me as I have a history of unfinished projects but despite a minor panic with only a week to go I did really enjoy it. I have plans to enter the Maritime one as well with another first for me but I need to wait until Father's Day when hopefully I might be lucky enough to receive the subject kit!

Don't get too hung up on the finish date as we tend to be a bit flexible about them these days :)

Hope you get what want for the Maritime GB as it looks like a few of us will be playing in that one too :th:

Beautiful work. That color looks perfect for an M1. The weathering is beautifully applied too
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

Thank you very much Stokesy, I really enjoyed this change from my norm and certainly will be attempting more armour in the future.

Thank you very much Mr B. I did find the weathering to be the hardest part, need a bit more practice I guess!
