  • Key identification features : A handsome decidous tree. Leaves are simple, obovate and attenuate at the base; lateral veins upto 30-50 pairs, often forking towards the margins. Flowers 3 cm across, appear in clusters and yellow in colour. Stamens many, innermost 10, longer than the rest and recurved.

  • Comments : The leaves of younger trees are larger than those of older trees and the nerves of younger leaves white, tomentose. The tree is a source of charcoal. One of Elephants favorite fruit.
