Justification: Rotala malampuzhensis is annual species growing in rocky moist and waterlogged habitats. It is endemic to southern India and grows in a wide variety of moist habitats and is locally abundant. Although the species is currently listed as Least Concern, there is a need for monitoring of current locations, habitat quality and efforts must be done for protecting its habitat.
Assessment History: 1997-Indeterminate (Walter and Gillett 1998)
Conservation Actions: The habitats need to be conserved for this species. No action has been taken so far. Further research in population size and trends is required.
