Reviewer/s: Juffe Bignoli, D., Narasimhan, D., Gunaga, S., Vasudevan, K. & Kumar, V.S. Contributors: Molur, S. Justification: Rotala malampuzhensis is annual species growing in rocky moist and waterlogged habitats. It is endemic to southern India and grows in a wide variety of moist habitats and is locally abundant. Although the species is currently listed as Least Concern, there is a need for monitoring of current locations, habitat quality and efforts must be done for protecting its habitat. Assessment History: 1997-Indeterminate (Walter and Gillett 1998) Conservation Actions: The habitats need to be conserved for this species. No action has been taken so far. Further research in population size and trends is required. List of Conservation Actions: 1, 1.2, 3, 3.4, 3.4.1

Major Threat (s): Conversion of land due to construction, roads, industrialization and mining are rampant throughout the range of this species. Disposal of waste on its habitat has also been observed. This may lead to slow decline in habitat quality. List of Threats: 1, 1.1, 1.2, 3, 3.2
