Blue Heaven® is a robust, tall and bright variation of Little Bluestem. It starts out with light blue foliage in the spring. Deep pink and burgundy hues materialize during late summer and graduate into copper at the leaf tips in the fall. Blue Heaven® remains upright under snow cover, a great advantage in Northern landscapes. Like other Little Bluestem, Blue Heaven® attracts birds and serves as a larval host for several species of skipper butterflies. Once established Schizachyrium scoparium ‘MinnBlueA’ PP17310 is drought tolerant and deer leave it alone. Blue Heaven® loves sun and well-drained soils with poor nutrients. Excess moisture, fertility, and shade may result in floppy growth.
Blue Heaven® is a naturally occurring hybrid of Schizachyrium scoparium selected by the University of Minnesota-St. Paul. Unlicensed propagation strictly prohibited.

GROWER INFO & TIPS
- Growth rate: medium
- Grow in 1 or 2 gallon; larger sizes would take a long time to fill out
- Grow in well-drained soil
- Water needs: keep evenly moist
- Fertilizing: use a slow release, medium-rate fertilizer; avoid over fertilizing (may cause flopping)

- Overwintering: cold frame with clear poly; keep dry
