Hunter Named To 2015 Midwest League All-Star Game

South Bend, Ind. – Former University of Hartford baseball player Brian Hunter was recently selected by the managers of the Midwest League to represent the Eastern Division in the league's 2015 All-Star game. A relief pitcher for the Dayton Dragons, the Class-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, Hunter will play in the game to be held on June 23, at Dozer Park- the home of the Peoria Chiefs.
 
Hunter was selected in the ninth round of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft by the Reds. The Port Jeff Station, N.Y. native has made 17 relief appearances for the Dragons this season, going 4-2 with a 2.31 ERA and five saves. Hunter has struck out 29 batters in just 23.2 innings of work.
 
Over his four-year career at Hartford, Hunter compiled a 4.40 ERA over 218.2 innings of work. The right-hander finished his career with 182 strikeouts, which is tied with Scott LaRock (1991-1994) for the second most in school history.
