Variegated Swedish ivy (plectranthus coleoides) issues

Hello everyone! I am new here and starting up with some house plants. I’ve been growing some herbs indoors and veggies in containers outside but have taken some shipments of various pet safe houseplants as well. One in particular which I really like is the variegated Swedish ivy but the first one I purchased, while arrived beautifully, died within 2 weeks with the stem turning brown and mushy. Likely root rot. But I read that the plant is a “thirsty” plant. So I ordered two more, 4 inch pot, great shape, very little leaf loss. Placed on humidity tray due to dry environment in Colorado and under 50% brightness grow lights to transition. I’ve had them for about a week now, watered twice, but the leaves are turning brown at the tips at various places and drying at the outer most tip. The soil has never really felt completely dry but as I mentioned I have watered it twice because the leaves give the appearance of under watering. What is going on??
Could be a fungal problem caused by too much watering. You can spray with Captain Jacks and make sure the pot is draining properly. Also could be from too much humidity.. 🪴🌻🏜️🌵
@SuperblyLilac I removed the humidity tray just in case that might have been contributing to problems. I didn’t have that on the last plant that died so I don’t know. I checked the roots on this guy and they look ok. The pot seems to be draining very well too, soil doesn’t feel super soggy to me either but idk if I have a good judgement on that yet. I think the base on this soil it came with is a peat or coconut coir substrate, something that’s really “mossy” feeling and seems to soak up water but also doesn’t hold onto it big time either like regular potting soil. I used normal potting soil on the last plant I had and I think it got too heavy and soggy for it, it needed a lot of perlite or something added to it. But this one has me thrown thru a loop. It’s buddy it was shipped with looks much better but also does have a few brown tips.
Maybe then it could be root rot. That is what it sounds like..
