How to fertilize Mammillaria capensis
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Mammillaria capensis after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

How can I safely take this off? I got this cactus as a gift for my birthday in March from my elderly neighbor. They got it for me because they knew I loved plants, my favorite color was purple and thought I would love the bloom. It was so thoughtful. Upon further inspection after watering it a few times I noticed the bloom never faded and that the store they must have gotten from glued a plastic purple bulb on top of a cactus plant. The cactus is still very beautiful and I would like to safely remove the plastic glued on bit to have a natural plant. If anyone can help me I wouldwold greatly appreciate it!!!

Is it possible that a cactus has two types of flowers? When I bought the cactus, it had huge round flowers, but now smaller flowers are appearing. Is that normal for a cactus? #CactusClique #BloomingSuccs
