Ficus ampelas
About Ficus ampelas
Did you know that all plants in the Ficus genus produce figs? In fact, the word Ficus quite literally means figs! Even cooler, all figs are pollinated by tiny wasps that use the fruits as a safe place to raise their young. 🐝 Ficus plants also contain latex which emerges as a milky sap when twigs are broken. This latex makes them toxic, so be sure to keep a close eye out if you have children or pets!

Ficus ampelas love being close to bright, sunny windows 😎.
Place it less than 1ft from a south-facing window to maximize the potential for growth.

Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement of Ficus ampelas in your home 🏡.
How to fertilize Ficus ampelas
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Ficus ampelas after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Ficus cpr I have this pretty but not-really-thriving Audrey Ficus. I attempted to notch it yesterday, and cutting into the trunk created sap in some areas but not others. Does that mean that the parts of the trunk that don’t produce sap are “dead”? Drake plant info linked below has Having a similar issue with my fiddle leaf which I’m working on bringing back from the dead, but expectations are low… (See photos— this one has rooting powder on notches) #NotSoHappyPlants #Ficus #FiddleLeafFig #NewGrowth #notching #Branching

Starting the rehab process on my parents’ 31yo weeping fig! She’s been neglected for probably half her life and yet STILL has leaves. So excited to return her back to her full glory!!

Can I remove the top of the plant where the new leave sprouts when the leaves have half come out? #RubberPlant

She’s been repotted :-) #Ficus #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict . I was going to wait till end of may, but couldn’t help myself. Soil was finally dried enough to water. I figured, might as well. Let’s hope she likes her new home.

I just had to repot Drusilla, my #ficusburgundy because her roots were poking out through the drainage hole in her pot! She’s grown so much since I got her in February 🤗🪴🥳 1st pic is her new digs, 2nd is her original 6” pot. #HappyPlants #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #RepotSeason #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantTherapy #FicusGang #Ficus #FicusFam #babevila

Plant Meme Monday for May 6th MAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOU (Plus 2 Days 😆) #plantmememonday #Seymour #theamigos As a theme for this week's memes, I was inspired by Queen's song Don't Stop Me Know so I have included an interpretative dance comedy skit I posted elsewhere to get people into a good dance of comedy moment. As with anything I or others post for Plant Meme Monday, viewer discretion is recommended https:// And I am adding another few as I want everyone to hit me with a great meme one more time 😆 🤣 😂 https:// And in case anyone think I am vain, let's add that one too https:// To offer the best answer for any single or more meme entries, add yours below, 🏆🏅🎖🥇 and the judges will press their buttons and turn their chairs to vote for the best one! In the meantime, here are a few more but glitches can unfortunately result in duplicates with any posting and the photos can't just be deleted and replaced (at least not for me 😢 😔 ) #plantmememonday #seymour #plantsmakepeoplehappy #greggang #plantjokes #plantaddict #happyplants #plantmafia #theamigos #justtalkaboutplants

Grow light recommendations #GrowLights #Ficus #NewPlants #FicusRuby #HappyPlants hello everyone, I’m brand new to grow lights, so no idea about them. Looking for one that would look nice in a living room. I have this new rubber ruby and I think will need some extra light in the bottom half. Amazon has some that stand and can be made shorter or longer. But I’m not sure of the type of light they emit. This is one of the ones I’m looking at. https:// . Or . https:// this style I’ve seen 20 and 40 watt. But no idea of what the plant needs. She’s facing east and the condo has another condo right across. So light is limited. . Edit to add, this app really needs a search function. 2nd edit to add, decided to go for this one. Is the only one I found that looks somewhat decent in the living room. Is really bright. So bright, that from ware I sit to work, I see it from the side, and I’m not sure if my eyes willwil be able to handle it long term. We’ll see. wolezek Grow Lights for Indoor... https://

What am I doing wrong? I have an easy plant pot for my fiddle leaf plant but it seems like the bottom leaves droop and the top ones grow well and spring up. I have it next to the window which gets decent sunlight but wondering what I’m doing wrong. Also the edges of the leaves brown quickly. I have learned this is not a low maintenance plant to care for as a beginner.
