Finding light for Bird's Nest Fern in your home
Asplenium Nidus can tolerate being far from a window and light source.
Place it less than 6 feet from a south-facing window to ensure it receives enough light to survive 💪.

How to fertilize Asplenium Nidus
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Asplenium Nidus after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Birds Nest Fern Help Hello! I just recently got this birds nest fern from costa farms. I’m terrible at keeping plants alive so I’m clueless. Does this plant look okay? Should the leaves be drooping like a couple in the picture? Hopefully I attached pictures correctly 🙃

In recovery! #BirdsNestFern hi, lovely folks! I overwatered my fern and it lost loads of leaves. I’ve taken it out of the pot and let it dry out. I repotted with drainage in the bottom. Is there anything else I should do? Thanks 🌱💚

She's not happy 🥺. What can I do? #happyplants #birdsnestfern

Fern S.O.S. I have had this birds nest fern for about a week or so now. I have been trying to keep her moist, as I've had problems before, but I'm trying to get better at ferns. She usually sits right by another plant and a humidifier and gets bright, indirect light. Despite this, she's doing the droopy droop, and I'm trying to save her before it's too late. Her crown is dry, but when I checked her roots, they seem to be browning. I have her on paper to siphon some water off. What else can I do? #fernfriends #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict

Why are my ends brown. I received her like this and just can’t get her to thrive #BirdsNestFern

Troubled arrival I bought this guy online in a fit of plant insanity and he arrived wilted, sideways, and smelling very strongly of incense because he was shipped in an incense box. Actually my whole house is aromatic from the unboxing. Any ideas if I should I hack off the wilting leaves? or can they recover? Can plants die from a patchouli overdose? #BirdsNestFern

Is there any chance she can be saved?? 😅 Not sure where I went wrong… she was thriving in fall #BirdsNestFern

Any idea what’s up with my fern?? It hasn’t moved in distance from the window or anything. I water it regularly, but it’s starting to look the wrong kind of crispy! Help!

My plant was stuck in transit for too long (due to shipping delays) and arrived with soggy leaves last week. I’ve only watered it once since, but the leaves still look really droopy. What can I do to revive the plant? #BirdsNestFern

Struggling Little Guy #BirdsNestFern I got this guy on clearance in October. His leaves were mangled, brown tips, tears in the leaves etc. He looked like he hadn’t seen much light. I know they are not fast growers, so I have not seen any new leaves. He was potentially over watered about a month ago, I accidentally fully watered him two days in a row (watered the wrong plant). I recently moved him to receive cast off light from a grow lamp, no real change. I did see this leaf today. It’s semi translucent on the bottom, but crispy at the tip. It’s not squishy though. A lot of the marks on the leaves and brown tips are from when I got him. Should I trim them? I have a west facing window with sheers on it I can move him too, is that too much light for him? Any tips, tricks, advice is appreciated. #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #Help

What other plant parents say
When I first got this it came with what I believe were spider mites. I did my usual: shower, spray with a mixture of dr bronners soap and water, then clean daily with a qtip and isopropyl alcohol. It was a real trooper. It’s pest free now and so fun to see the leaves unfurl more every day. Eye-catching and pretty low maintenance. I love it!
I have in plastic pot in front of a southern facing window with verticals. Slow grower, but seems very easy to care for, only requiring water every so often. I use a moisture meter, which greatly helps and prevents over watering. Finally after having her for a couple of months, 2 new baby leaves are starting to pop out in the center
This plant has survived ANYTHING I’ve done to it!! Honestly such a great first house plant, I’ve had it for years and had basically no issues with it. They like humidity and and for their soil to be moist, but honestly they’re also pretty drought tolerant. I’ve let mine dry out completely for longer that I should have and it was completely fine! I definitely recommend this plant.
