COLLECTION NOTES
4. Supplier:

RarePlants Dec 2018

5. Description of supplier:

‘ Stems up to 30cm tall, bearing a lax cylindrical tassel Hyacinth type spike of flowers. The lower fertile ones are deep brown bronze, and pale brown with yellow teeth, the upper sterile tassel is purple to violet and even pinkish in some plants.’

6. Collection ID prefix:

0049,

2019 May 18 As suggested by supplier, sterile flowers are more pink than purple on this plant.

The rest of the flowers are held at right angle to stem on pedicels about two thirds the length of the flower.

Flowers are pale green at base with slightly darker green striation where petals are fused.

The colour changes to brown for the last third of the flowers before the yellow of the lobes. The clear yellow lobes are quite tightly pinched.
