I remember Ruby being the mascot (somewhat) for ATi and the demo's of her were awesome (a movie must be made!). Now i was watching the Whiteout demo which was created for the HD2xxx series, but the rest is crap about Froglins, ladybugs and more nonsense. The Whiteout demo was awesome, but unfortunately too short. Now, did ATi fire Ruby or what? If so, RIP.
that chest would make for a good depth of field demo... dont really know whats going on with ruby. perhaps its simpler for them to program more detailed ladybugs?
I remember the Nvidia Dusk demo which would be the mascot for the GeforceFX line. That demo looked epic even back then. When you think of it, not much has improved since then. Yeah, demo gfx are always jaw dropping, but you won't see the same quality in games. :nerd: Next thing i want is a 3D demo of Ruby naked with the ability to touch her (and perhaps lick her if she and my wife allows it). :nerd: I'm such a nerd! :infinity:
Man I was thinking the same thing well not the licking part well may be but anyway I was talking to someone the other day about how the tech demos for graphic cards have really gone down hill I mean frobins or what ever they called is just crap, games look better then this and I agree whiteout was great! They did a tech demo of ruby last year if you remember on the 4870 said it was running in real time but never came out most likely was BS but I watched most of the 5870 launch and I remember ruby being done in DX11 and one guy was talking about it and he said “The frame rate is pretty good on one 5870 but the frame rate will be better in the game” I thought at the time what game, I can’t find anything about it anywhere but if it was true a game with ruby that be good.
Here is a bit more info about Ruby, but not much: http://ati.amd.com/products/workstation/casestudy/Ruby.html There's also a newer movie with her called "The Assasin", but it is just a movie, not a real time demo: http://ati.amd.com/ruby/index.html
We need hot chicks for mascotes, they could show some advanced dx11 transparency on her clothes at least And those tech demos are allways a focused renderings of some scenes, characters that uses allmost all the proc. power available,so for the games looking that good wll have to wait
The demo “The Assassin” was made for the XBOX 360 GPU ages ago, if you want to download the real time demo here is the page with many more others:http://developer.amd.com/archive/legacydemos/pages/ATIRadeonX1800Real-TimeDemos.aspx Enjoy!
