Hi @Felicia  welcome to the forum. In a 5 gallon tank there are not many fish that will thrive.  Having several types is not advisable in a 5 gallon tank.

Some ideas would be a trio of Heterandria formosa -least killifish. Like guppies they give birth to live young.EE79DE6E-1CDE-4D9E-8DAC-2F4EF0876194.jpeg.8b026f6ea67d4a584be31092bc58f131.jpeg

To make it more community feel you could add neocaridina shrimp with any 1 of these and a nerite snail to keep the windows clean after the tank is well established

Hello Felicia, and welcome to the forum.  Will this be a planted tank?  I have a group of celestial pearl danios in a 5.5 gallon tank, but it's densely planted.  It probably wouldn't work in an open tank.

Believe it or not, a tank with just shrimp and snails is also entertaining to watch.
