General Description
Puberulent perennial. Stems erect, simple, 60–100 cm. Leaf blades ovate, cordate, the lower 10–25 cm long. Inflorescence a leafy-bracted panicle with ascending, interrupted, spike-like branches. Flowers perfect; outer tepals 2–3 mm long. Fruit 3–5 cm long; inner tepals triangular with basally toothed margins; a callosity on 1 to 2 tepals. Achenes brown, 2–3 mm long (Lesica et al. 2012.
