It was always a supreme pleasure to watch them in the front row 😊

What lots of folks didn’t know about Galyn is that she was a big, silly goofball. Until her last days she was ready to crack up. I always enjoyed making her laugh; so many inside jokes, impersonations, hilarious moments…She was a hoot!  😂 💃🏻 💃🏻 😜 

Ms. Gorge was like an idol for me growing up in my teens.  I just saw how talented and beautiful she was especially in the Michael Damien video 'Was it Nothing at all?' Some people don't remember that one but I watched it so many times.  I don't know I had some kind of connection to her and I am nothing to her, never met at all.  But I live on Maui and I was so shocked to learn she spent a lot of her life here.  The world is not the same without her that's for sure!  She's at peace and I hope continues to dance to her hearts content.  My love goes out to her parents and siblings.  

Two years seems like yesterday. It seems like everything that happens in my career I feel like Galyn watches over and guides me. Always will be my true mentor and one of my dearest friends ever.

There was a song I heard for the first time the day Galyn died that helped me through that day and the days following. (Love & Hate - Michael Kiwanuka) It inexplicably started playing today on my computer. I think of her every time I hear it so when I heard it today I had to wonder if it was her anniversary. Sure enough.

Galyn I finally made it to Hawaii but you’re not here . I miss you so much . Now I see why you loved this place so much . Mahalo

Hello Galyn, it's still hard to believe you are in heaven. I've always enjoyed talking with you. I miss you. I go back and read some of our messages. You are truly heaven now and forever.

Please accept my condolences.

I knew Galyn only slightly when she came to some Buddhist teachings. We spoke only a few times, but I was struck by her combination of visual beauty and a calm, gentle, focussed presence -- these are elements that don't appear together so often as we might like. Her impact on me was greater than one might expect for such limited exposure.

I will continue to include her in my prayers. May you all be blessed in your memory of her as you were during this all-too-brief life with her being physically present.

Monica and I send Big Island love and condolences to the Gorg family. Galyn was a beautiful person inside and out and a true artist. We imagine her dancing in the stars...

Galyn was a great and valued friend for over 30 years. I'm reminded of the words Steve Jobs spoke as he faced his imminent mortality when even his immense wealth could not save him:

"“In other eyes, my life is the essence of success, but aside from work, I have a little joy. And in the end, wealth is just a fact of life to which I am accustomed.”

“At this moment, lying on the bed, sick and remembering all my life, I realize that all my recognition and wealth that I have is meaningless in the face of imminent death. You can hire someone to drive a car for you, make money for you – but you can not rent someone to carry the disease for you. One can find material things, but there is one thing that can not be found when it is lost – “LIFE”. ❤️

Treat yourself well, and cherish others. As we get older we are smarter, and we slowly realize that the watch is worth $30 or $300 – both of which show the same time. Whether we carry a purse worth $30 or $300 – the amount of money in the wallets are the same. Whether we drive a car worth $150,000, or a car worth $30,000 – the road and distance are the same, we reach the same destination. If we drink a bottle worth $300 or wine worth $10 – the “stroller” will be the same. If the house we live in is 300 square meters, or 3000 square meters – the loneliness is the same.”

So, I hope you understand that when you have friends or someone to talk to – this is true happiness! ✅
