Georges AURIC (1899-1983). Autograph musical manuscript, Gaspard et Zoé ou l'après-midi dans un parc, 1914-1915; notebook of 16 pages in-fol. One of Auric's very first musical compositions. Composed in 1914-1915, this suite of short pieces for piano will be published in 1927 with the subtitle " Scènes enfantines pour le piano d'après Henri-Pierre Roché " and dedicated to René Chalupt. It includes 35 short pieces (33 in the edition, where some of them will be gathered, with variations in the titles) which follow one another: On met à Zoé ses bas blancs; On met à Gaspard sa cravate rouge; Zoé dans la voiture avec sa gouvernante; Présentation; Mes enfants, soyez bien sages; Observation mutuelle; Gaspard emmène Zoé dans le parc; Les Pâtés; Le jardin de sable; Le Goûter Tartines de confitures; Les Cerises (boucles d'oreilles); Les noyaux de cerises; Le Goût du chocolat (symphonie); Jujules, le fils du jardinier, derrière la grille ; Zoë, who is no longer hungry, thinks of giving him her toast; Jujules finds Zoë so beautiful that he makes a face at her; Zoë takes refuge behind Gaspard; Gaspard would like to beat Jujules, but is afraid [deleted in the edition] ; Jujules shows them his line to catch frogs; He is made to sneak in; At the pond he becomes beautiful; The taken frog; The ricochets; The soiled skirt [these two numbers joined in the edition]; ... The bell rings, Jujules must return for the soup; One accompanies it to the gate, Zoé agitates its handkerchief; Gaspard is jealous. He sulks; Zoé plays alone with her doll; Gaspard decides to beat Zoé; He pulls her English; Zoé cries softly; He comes closer, he kisses her straw hat; Dusk; The governess takes the children away, one in each hand; Goodbye, Zoé - Goodbye, Gaspard. The manuscript, carefully written in purple ink on 12-line paper, is dated at the end "September 1914 February 1915". It presents corrections by scratching, and some measures crossed out. The original edition (Copenhagen and Leipzig, Wilhelm Hansen, 1927) is joined, with sending a.s. in blue ink to the dedicatee of the work: " To René Chalupt, who will not mind me making him find again after so many years, Gaspard and Zoé - first witness of our friendship, G. Auric. 1929 ".
