Butterfly Iris, or White Flag. A native of the heathlands and forests of New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. It produces a dense tuft of Iris-like leaves above which are held beautiful pure white flowers that really do look at you. They have 3 main rounded petals, the upper two held like Mickey Mouse ears. In the centre of the flower, which shades to blue is a small blue shaded cowl and two small petals with a bright yellow flash on each. A charming and slightly scented treat for growing somewhere sunny with reasonable drainage. 30cm

Dorset Perennials – plants direct from the heart of Dorset.

At Dorset Perennials you will find a husband and wife team, Dawn and Martin, who have been plantsmen and nurserymen for nearly 25 years. Our nursery, situated in the North of Dorset close to the Somerset border, is full of the plants we love. There’s no overall theme, just an eclectic mix of perennials that, for one reason or another, we consider well worth growing. We have plants for shade, plants for sun, plants for wildlife and a few more just because. In short all the perennials you would ever need to make a garden full of colour throughout the year and full of the plants you need to make it hum with wildlife.
