Decumbent annual to 20 cm. Leaves elliptic to oblong, pinnatifid to pinnatisect. Flowers axillary, 2-saccate, greyish magenta with dark magenta centre and yellow sacs and stamen-bearing boss, limb 13--20 mm long, sacs c. 4--5 mm long, stamens yellow, posterior filaments with a prominent protruberence at the bend, pollen orange. Capsules ovate-falcate. Aug.--Sept. Strandveld in sandy loam, SW (Langebaan and Postberg).
