Smallish species, grey bodies, bright yellow flowers.
Lithops herrei is not a very glamorous species and many collectors do not bother growing them, but due to the ongoing crippling draught and continued mining activities in the region where this species occurs, numbers have declined dramatically in recent years. Several of the known localities have already been lost, therefore I think its important to keep growing this species and perhaps one day seeds can be reintroduced to try and establish new or re-establish lost populations.
