Fockea crispa . . .

Keith Scott will be our guest speaker for the CSSSJ March Meeting. He will be giving a demonstration on bonsai planting for succulent caudiciforms. This is my Fockea crispa I pruned back today to better see the caudex. I know he'll have suggestions about transplanting this guy into a shallow Bonsai pot, but I'm not sure that I'm brave enough to hack the roots off to fit it into that pot. I got this plant 15 years ago growing in a 4" pot, and the caudex was the size of a quarter. I'd feel really bad if I killed it. Tony
