About

After several years in the performing arts and not-for-profit sectors, with experience in event planning, public speaking, communications, and office administration, I began working toward a Legal Assistant Certificate. I've now completed my studies and practicum, and I'm ready to bring my diverse background and broad knowledge base to work.

As the public face of the Light the Night Walk in Winnipeg, the Honoured Hero helps to spread the LLSC's mission and message, and get people excited for the Walk. I share my story with media, sponsors, and other participants in order to hook them and keep them engaged.

I also take a lead role in organizing fundraising events for my team in advance of the 2015 Light the Night Walk in September.

My work culminated in organizing a fundraiser for their Theatre School. "Scenes from the Zombie Apocalypse" brought together local theatre professionals with the school's teen acting students to produce a series of short scenes in only one day. The event was highly successful, receiving very positive responses from audience members and participants alike.

Projects

  • Blood, Sweat, and Tears

"Blood, Sweat, and Tears" was a Fringe Festival preview night in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada's Light the Night Walk. Performers donated their time and talent in exchange for free promotion in advance of the festival. I was solely responsible for planning the event, including recruiting the performers, acquiring sponsors, and creating marketing materials, and I took the lead in executing the event on the day.
