Sphaerichthys Vaillanti is a species of freshwater fish belonging to the family Osphronemidae and the genus Sphaerichthys. These fish are generally shy and introverted, especially when you first receive them. In this species, the females are actually the more striking and beautiful ones when they color up. Similar to the chocolate gouramis, they are mouthbrooders and the females will be the ones to hold onto the eggs.

Tankmates: Samurai gouramis are peaceful fish, so they can be kept with other peaceful fish of similar size and water parameters. Avoid keeping them with aggressive or fin-nipping fish. Avoid big fast moving fish like tetras and rasboras as they will eat most of the food. 

It is also important to note that crossband chocolate gouramis are sensitive to water quality and require a well-maintained aquarium. Proper diet and regular water testing are essential for their health and longevity.
