Ficus acamptophylla is a characteristic fig of poor soil kerangas  and coastal peat swamp forest throughout Borneo.

F. acamptophylla is  a climbing liana in Section Conosycea  commonly known as “Stranglers”, although it does not strangle it’s host.

The individual shown is flushing with new growth and as a result has produced an enlarged bright scarlet stipule.
