| Cytinus hypocistis (L.) L., it is a holoparasite, perennial plant, the stems simple cylindrical, many up to 4-11 cm high, rarely long, erect. Leaves scaly, ovoid to ovulate obtuse, Almost entirc up to I cm long, yellow to orange colour, Bracteoles 2. Flowers monoecious, 5-10 in each spike-head. ± sessile. Each subtended by 2 bracteoles of the same colour of leaves. Perianth white-yellowish with 4 creel, ovate-oblong lobes, stamens 8, anthers sessile on the central column. Ovary inferior 1-4 carpcllate, ovules many, style 1, stigma grooved, capitate. Fruits small berry with many minute, endospermie seeds. Life Form: Pa, Flowering in: Mar-Jun, Vern:———–, Phytochoria: MED, The native range of this species is Medit. Notes: Wild in Libya, a species commonly parasitism on root of Cistus ssp.
