Identifying Features
Green ash is reaches about 70 feet tall.
The bark of this tree is gray and tightly furrowed into forking, crossed ridges.
Green ash leaves are opposite, compound, and 8-10" long. They have 5-9 leaflets. They are green on both sides, and have tiny hairs on the underside.
Habitat & Range
Green ash is found in wet areas such as swamps in the eastern United States, stretching west as far as Montana. Their range also reaches north into southern Canada.
Life Cycle
Seeds are narrow, hanging, and winged.
