from Snow & Simon 7364, Queensland, Darling Downs District, along Surat
Developmental Road, 18 km W of its junction with Leichardt Highway, in brigalow
remnants, common, with Leptochloa divaricatissima, L. aff. fusca, and Acacia
harpophylla, clay soil, GPS 27.22.50S 150.00.37E, N. s.n.ow 7401 (HT:
BRI; IT: MO, CANB).

Habit. Annual.
Culms erect or geniculately ascending, stature slender to delicate, 137–170 cm
tall. Mid-culm internodes hollow. Ligule an eciliate membrane, 3–5.5 mm long,
lacerate. Leaf-blades flat or involute, 15–60 cm long, 12.5 mm wide.

Inflorescence.
Inflorescence compound, a panicle of racemes. Racemes 60–80, ascending or
spreading, 1–17.5 cm long.

Spikelets.
Fertile spikelets many flowered, with at least 2 fertile florets (3–6),
comprising 3–6 fertile floret(s), laterally compressed or terete, 3.5–4.6 mm long.

Glumes. Lower
glume lanceolate or ovate. Upper glume 1.2–1.7 mm long.

Florets.
Fertile lemma 1.5–2 mm long.
