Erect moss (Vesicularia reticulata) - 10 g portion
Serving 10 g.
Moss Erect, scientific name Vesicularia reticulata. In nature, widely distributed throughout Southeast Asia. It grows on moist substrates along the banks of rivers, swamps and other bodies of water, as well as under water, anchoring itself on woody or rocky surfaces.
“Erect moss” can be translated as “Erect moss”. It reflects the tendency of this species to form straight shoots when the moss grows underwater. This feature has led to the popularity of Moss Erect in professional aquascaping. With its help, for example, they create realistic objects resembling trees, shrubs and other plants of surface flora.
It is a close relative of Christmas moss. When grown in paludariums, both species look almost identical. Differences can only be detected under high magnification. Moss Erectus has ovate or lanceolate leaves with a strongly pointed elongated tip.
It is considered easy to maintain. It is not picky about growth conditions and is able to adapt to a wide range of temperatures and basic water parameters (pH and GH). It has been noted that with moderate lighting, moss forms more branched shoots, so from the point of view of design, the amount of light matters.
Doesn't grow well in soil. It is recommended to place it on the surface of driftwood or stones. Initially, the bunches that have not yet grown are secured with fishing line or special glue. In the future, the moss rhizoids will independently support the plant.
