Glycosmis pentaphylla Seeds

Glycosmis pentaphylla is a type of evergreen shrub or small tree that can grow up to 5 meters in height. Although mainly harvested from the wild for local consumption as food and medicine, it has become increasingly popular as an edible fruit in some parts of the Caribbean where it is sometimes cultivated.

This plant is also sometimes grown as an ornamental in various tropical regions. The fruit of Glycosmis pentaphylla is reddish and sub-spherical; globe shapedglobose, measuring 8-10mm in diameter. The fruit is sweet and fleshy, with small, translucent pink fruits containing juicy flesh and a unique, gin-like flavor.
