3. Dysphania carinata (R. Brown) Mosyakin et Clemants (syn.: Chenopodium carinatum R. Brown) (Aus.) – Formerly a rather frequent but ephemeral wool alien in the Vesdre valley around Verviers when it was recorded between 1940 (first Belgian record) and 1958. Elsewhere in Belgium only exceptionally seen: in 1981 on a dump in Antwerpen and in 1995 on the gravelly banks of river Maas in Kotem (possibly a relic of the former wool processing industry).
In general habit Dysphania carinata is much reminiscent of D. pumilio. Both species have been frequently intermixed in Belgian herbaria but the former is much rarer. However, it is not impossible that it is still overlooked. Sepals of Dysphania carinata are also similar to those of D. cristata (see drawings).
