Yucca linearifolia is one one of the hardiest yuccas in europe, but needs protection
in winter. This one grows in a unheated greenhouse in Bavaria (Prost)

Wow! It looks like a drawing in a Dr. Seuss book!
Agave
"American aloe plant," 1797, from Greek Agaue, proper name in mythology (mother of Pentheus), from agauos "noble," perhaps from agasthai "wonder at".

Photgraphed at the collection of Jos van Roosbroeck, near Antwerp, Belgium. This is probably the best private collection of agaves and yuccas in Europe.

How hardy are these? I read 10 degrees F but would've assumed it could go colder.

Somewhere in the negatives, similar to Yucca rostrata. They survived near 0°and a week below freezing in central and north Texas in 2021 no problem.

Very cool, thanks. Had read 10 degrees somewhere which I assumed was inaccurate. Is their growth rate about the same as Rostrata?
