Found in Zamora Chinchipe Ecuador in premontain rain forests at elevations of 1000 to 1200 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool to warm growing epiphyte with nearly obselte, cylindrical-orbicular pseudobulbs enveloped completly by 3 papyraceous sheaths and carrying a single, apical, fleshy, sessile, elliptic to elliptic-oblong, acute to acute acuminate, green spotted with scattered small purple dotted leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a racemose, .68" [1.7 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with ovate, acute floral bracts

This species is part of the T pulchrum group which includes T longicalcaratum, T obcordilabium, T viridulum and T pulchrum but differs in the spur as long as the blade of the lip, keels of the lip incurved and convergent at the apex and the column wings are 1mm long.
