Found in Spain and France at elevations of 1500 to 2100 meters as miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid with up to 15 basal, spreading to erect, dark green above, pale green below, linear, acute, finely serrated margin leaves and with the upper 2 to 3, cauline, bract-like sometimes edged red leaves that blooms in the late spring and summer on a robust, erect inflorescence that has not, to slightly scented flowers held in an apical cluster with the flowers opening in succession.
