Common Name Aurora's Masdevallia [Sra Bennett Peruvian Orchid Enthusiast]

Found in Pasco department of Peru in elfin forests at elevations around 1800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 thin, loose tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptical, acute, narrowly cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a slender, suberect to ascending, 2 to 2.8" [5 to 7 cm] long peduncle, single flowered inflorescence arising from the base of the ramicaul, with a thin bract in the lower third and a tubular floral bract, holding the single flower well above leaf height.
